The invitation from Karl DL4RU and Inge DL9RBI to their town for a double castle activation ended very successfully.
The idea to bring two new castle entries in the HBD-weekend (3 year anniversary of WCA) on january 14th resulted in a great score of 455 QSOs in less than four hours. Beside the WCA-counters DL-02826 and DL-02827 also the WFF-park-counter DLFF-093 was given and the pileups sometimes were tremendous.

QSL as usual via DL7RAG via buro.
Report from the activation can be found here in PDF-format.

As my final 18th operation this year under DA0CW and OK8WFF I´ve decided to use the silent days just before the new year to put DA0CW/p in the air from my home-castle Falkenberg, just directly in my view when looking out of the window.
About seven hours with tests on various bands generated altogether 339 contacts in my log.
This put the 2011 Falkenberg QSO-score up to 2300 contacts at all, our most activated castle, hi.
The eight other new castle-portable-operations altogether finished with 1564 contacts. So Team DA0CW/OK8WFF made in 2011 more than 3900 castle-contacts, together with nearly 7000 WFF-contacts an increadible result, thanks to all callers.
A short report about the operation can be found here.
New year season is planned to start at january 14 with another new one castle operation celebrating the three years anniversary of WCA on Happy Birthday Castle-day.
Hope to meet you there from another new one. QSL as always automatically via DL7RAG (you don´t need to send your card) plus upload to the WCA-database.

Another one was possible due to the extreme dry weather this autumn/pre winter.
We decided to activate the Castle of Thumsenreuth cause we had not too big distance to the location there and wanted to make a short activity because it was dry however only around 7 degrees. So mast and wire-antennas must rest at home, only the mobile-Outbacker-antenna with magnetic foot was taken to keep the building of the station short. Altogether the operation lasted good 1,5 hours on 18 and 14 MHz SSB only. 140 QSOs were made with VK3FT from Melbourne as the ODX.
Beside the activation from a new castle the operation was also valid for World Flora Faune Nature Park Steinwald DLFF-119. A small activation-report can be found under this link.
All contacts were uploaded to WCA-database and also Igor EW4DXs WFF-database. All contacts will be confirmed automatically via buro.

At october, 2nd I made a trip to the nature-park Oberer Bayerischer Wald DLFF-097. This was the second operation from there and the number of interested callers was high. Finally in 2,5 hours I could manage to make 246 contacts, 85 percent in SSB.
Activity was on 40 and 20 meters only with FT450 and double dipole.
QSL for this activity as usual via DL7RAG, you don´t need to send a card.
All QSOs will be confirmed automatically via buro.
More detailled report in PDF-format can be downoaded here.

As I was quite busy the last weeks with activations the reviews for the activities appear a bit delayed. My activity nr. 14 this year was from nature-park Veldensteiner Forst / Fränkische Schweiz. It lasted altogether about 2,5 hours and generated 224 contacts. All QSL-cards are written and on the way to you via the bureau. Also the logs are already uploaded to EW4DX-database and confirmed. Equipment: YAESU FT450-AT with double-dipole, Mikrokeyer II powered from a separate battery. Logging with N1MM on an Acer Netbook. More infos about the activity can be found in this PDF-report. Thanks for the QSOs and the SWL-reports.

At august 20, Team DA0CW/p activated the nature-park Haßberge DLFF-064 for the first time. Conditions were very changeable and the results on 20 meter not as expected. Especially during the running contest-activities it was difficult on 20 meter CW at all. So main-band this time again was 40 meters. However under the circumstances we finally were satisfied with the end-result of 829 QSOs with 774 unique stations.
60 percent SSB and 40 percent CW. Team consisted by Günther DC2RK, Xaver DK4RM and Manfred DF6EX. The location was in the lower corner of the nature-park near the town of Ebern. All QSOs will be confirmed automatically with a special DA0CW/p-color-WFF-QSL-card which comes via our QSL-manager DL7RAG. (you don´t need to send your own card). This raises our this years activity to a total of nearly 5500 QSO. Together with the last-year activations we brought you around 9000 contacts in your logs. So many thanks for calling (or hearing) us. A detailled report can be found here in PDF-format as Download. The log-upload to EW4DX-database will be sent today, so expect your credit in a few days. Thank you and see you from anywhere. Manfred -DF6EX- for Team DA0CW/p
